Keep in mind these have 7.5 static compression. I ran 92 octane with 7.5# boost and no cooler for many hours. I don't know how he's getting 9# of boost. The smallest top pulley makes 8#. I also doubt that the extra boost over 7.5# is even helping anything without a chiller. The SC will just scream louder and make more heat.

I ran mine on 89 with 6psi for a few summers...
When I had them rebuilt with roller cams, I was going to go with some B&M 420's but later built larger motors from scratch.

Could be or could just be a leak or kink in the tubing that goes to the guage. Should be easy to check. Just switch the hoses at the engine or behind the dash. The ones on the engine are behind the carb and go into the intake.

can you get rid of the dominators and switch to smaller carb like 850's on these motors? i understand these like to suck alot of fuel.thinking of duplicating the 525 from my 454 mag.

The only blower housing with the dominator flange on the 177 Weiands IS the piece they made for Merc and I think NLA. Seems like most 525sc clone motors built use the off the shelf 177 blowers that have a standard holley flange. 850's set up for the blower seem to be a favorite choice. And yes, my motor loves 93 octane also.
