Extension box or not?

I have a 26 Corsa a 496 485hp, bravo drive 1.5 and a labbed 29p bravo prop. the boat runs 72 @ 5100rpm. I am torn between selling and getting a bigger boat for the wife and kids or if I keep it I was thinking extension box, supercharger and big tabs. How do much do these hulls appreciate an extension box?

Thanks

Call Ron at Imco Nevada. If there is a Corsa 26 out there with an Imco box, he will know. He´s got a 26 or 27 Hallet with 800 HP and the box really brought him some speed and handling improvements, as it also did on my boat.
But if you need a bigger boat,it is no substitute........

I have extension boxes on a 30' vee. I wouldn't take them off, but I wouldn't buy them again either. WAY to many $$ for the small incremental improvements...if any. You can easily spend $6,000-8,000 on a single box set set-up with: ext box, new steering, engine compartment re-rig, etc

Has anyone tried a Stern Jack on that hull? I see you are in Louisville just 80 miles south/west of me and I happen to have one I would like to move.

Both the Miklos Corsa 26, Chiropractor Corsa 26 and Bounty Hunter (probably others as well) had Imco Extension boxes with 3" lift and 380S tabs. These two boats ran in Factory 1 when that got started and you still see them periodically on the course.

Before you put a box on, get info from the boat builder, or someone that has done this on the same boat. I have seen boxes make boats go faster and, also, slower with boxes.

1/2 price that sounds like a deal I'd be interested in one. I have all forged internals in this engine from Raylar and was thinking super charger and or extension box. How much speed on average have people got by adding a extension box and could I keep my lower or would I need a shorty?

Steve,

Thanks for the reply could you elaborate as far as to how much rise and could I keep my stock drive or would I need a 1 or 2" shorty? I also removed my bennet tabs after ripping one off upon reentry and have been patiently waiting on a good deal on a set of 280s or 380 k planes.

Thanks,
Alex
