This is absolutely untrue. Every single power trick for the BBC is possible for a BBF. I have run them for 16 years in three different boats.

The newer style cone clutch KC are very strong and will take more abuse than a Bravo ever thought of taking. I've heard of issues with the older KCs though, usually shift related.

The Ford marine parts are more expensive, and they dont make the performance stuff like they do for Chevy. The boat's been going since 91 with that drive? That says something for it. I have my boat 10 years with the same Cobra drive. I change the oil every season with OMC drive oil, and I don't exactly baby it. It's still going strong. 383 in a 21' Liberator, 60mph WOT. Would I buy another one? Yes.
is that gps or mph thats a heavy boat

Air Time, That's GPS. I'm running it with a 22 pitch Raker prop. The boat seems to like those. It's a heavy boat, but it rides real well in the rough. The 1991 KC drive is cone clutch (if I remember correctly). That's a good drive. As a matter of fact Volvo bought the rights to it, and used some of the technology in their SX Cobra drives (Stlliberator saw the similarity). Granted, there will never be the popularity, or parts availability that Merc has, but you could do worse.
Here's a link to a KC to SX Cobra conversion kit: http://www.marinepartsexpress.com/SX_Cobra.pdf

XR shortys on ITS. Cryogenic treatment. Max shafts, blueprinted and upgraded bearings/shims etc.

One off parts primarily accessory brackets for PS and alternator. Motor Mounts and headers are custom but most are. Closed cooling stuff all custom. Took me a long time to do it, I did everything on evenings and weekends.

Just wanted you to know that power is available, even without power adders.

Thanks for the compliments.
