Dry sump is a good deal on a large, high RPM, high HP engine.
If the only worry is momentary uncovering of the oil pump pickup, then there is a solution that works great, without the expense and added complexity of a dry sump system.
It's called the Accusump by Moroso. It's an oil accumulator that can be had in 1qt and 3qt sizes. If the oil pickup gets uncovered, the accusump provides said amount of oil at the same oil pressure that the engine had immediately preceeding the low pressure event.
An added benefit of the Accusump is that it can be used as a pre-oiler, so you can pre-lube the engine brfore cranking it up.
All for about 1/10 the cost of a dry sump system.
