1990 Scarab 21 Excel 454 Bravo

I own a 21 Excel with standard 454 Bravo and 21 stainless prop, thru hub exaust and factory fiberglass swim platform. Boat runs a disappointing 56 MPH, considering exaust options and prop options. Swim platform may limit exaust options? Anyone have any info to share about this boat? Does anyone know, was this boat availible with 454 mag or 502?

I would think that would hit 60's easy. Is the 56 with GPS or Speedo? What RPM are you turning?

Mine would only do 59 with the stock 454 and 23p prop. Now it does 69 and i still have 600rpms to prop for.Hoping to see 73 when its all said and done.

I believe you can run a side exit exhaust on them.. I had a similar wellcraft years ago & I had gone that route.. I had the 454 mag / B1 w/23p. It would run low 60's.. jamie / Lakeside
