Outboard question for small CC fish boat.
Picked up a cheap 1989 15' CC fishboat for a run about for 1300 bucks. It has a 65HP evinrude. I changed plugs and wires. The boat will not get on plane. Just when you think your getting it on plan, it plows thru the water with the nose up and never gets up on plane. We had the engine cover off while driving it and the engine seems to be revving all the way up under load.
Could it possibly have the wrong size prop for it? Its a stainless prop and there is no tach on the boat. About what size prop should be on this boat? Its a 1989 65HP evinrude. I would think the boat would get up and run with that size engine on the back. Any info would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks

Make sure the motor is at it's lowest position (some have adjustable brackets), and the trim is all the way in. Does it have adjustable trim (from helm)? Then go from there. A 65 should get you up on step.

Checked the engine position and the pin that holds the motor is in the out most pin position, thus trimming the crap out of the engine. Were going to run it tomorrow and put the pin tucked all the way against the boat!!
I think this will work!! thanks for the help and I'll let you know how things work out.
