Well I went ahead and did both gimbal rings the J-R MARINE way.
Ron from J-R Marine was GREAT to deal with.
I used his plate kit and stainless steal pins.
Desided to buy new gimbal rings from TEAGUE Marine

Replaced the gimbal bearing while there.
checked engine alingment THANKS to board member WALLY he updated my engine alignment tool so I could use it on the steel couplers.
New rings,bellows,bearings and were back together

WALLY also came up with the idea and made this outdrive alingment rods,They work GREAT,Thanks again WALLY

Thanks for taking time to talk to me.
PQ must have changed the way they cut the transom hole in 2000.
I think you can see how the fiberglass came way down,I tried but there was no way I could slip a wrench in there.
