2006 35OL 35th Anv. Edition-Sold Boatless
496HO water pressure-What should it be?

I Own a 2006 Baja w/twin 496HO's. Previous owner installed smartcraft systemview.
I noticed the port engine is about double what the stardboard engine reads.
eg.
Idle port is 3 PSI...Stbd is 6 PSI
3500 Port is 10 PSI....stbd is 20 PSI

Depending on where the sensor is located I am thinking either one is good.

Low PSI could mean a bladed or two is missing and its having a hard time sucking.
High PSI could be somthing is plugged farther down the line and its reading high pressure.

not getting a code= displays reads good when running....Just feel its a big difference in pressures.

Thanks
Dennis

fountain
typically they range between3 and 5 p.s.i at idle. and depending on application they run between 25 and 30 p.s.i .
obstruction does raise pressure, usually debri stuck in the oil cooler and p/s cooler.

Wink Will the real water pressure show itself?

Try swapping the two water pressure sensors and see if the pressures remain the same or flip close to what they are now. We've seen a lot of range in these sensors and it seems to be sensor calibration issues more than water pressure issues.

Regards,
Ray @ Raylar
