2.5/2.4

It Really Depends How Much $$$ You Want To Spend. Personaly, I Like The 2.5's For There Light Weight, Along With Low Cost And Ease To Modify. You Can Pick Up A Decent 2.5 Efi For Under 5k. An Older 2.4 Is'nt A Bad Choice In My Book Either, Although Parts Are Getting A Little Harder To Find, You Can Pick Them Up Dirt Cheap, And Set Up Right, They Can Really Scream. Stay Away From The 4-strokes. Check Out Scream&fly.com There Is Always Great Deals In The Engine Classified Section. Good Luck, Mark

33' Powerplay triple 2.5's
2.5, I assume you mean the offshores, are nice engines, you have to mix oil and are probably a little less reliable than the 300x's. The 300x's are more friendly and better for all around use. 2.5's can be modded easily to make even more power if top speed is what you're after. Stock form , they should run close to the same speeds.

cats in that size range are also typically more agile with the 2.5's v.s 300x or 300x's . they also excellerate much faster and harder. the newer style 2.5's which come 2.5s, 2.5ss, and in 15" and 20" shaft lengths. i personally love them. they literally scream while turning 7600 or 7800 rpm.

i wouild say they are better for a more nimble ride.

good luck.
