I've got a Crane 731 roller cam for sale.It is for a Gen VI block. It has less than 100 hrs on it. It made great power on my 502 motor. It will slide right in and you can re-use the stock lifters. I would like to get 275.00 for it. They sell new for 435.00 at Summit. The lift is 587 int and 610 ex and a 114 center. PM me if interested. I have 2 to sell.

Lemme take a guess here. I ran the exact same boat with a zz502 short block, merlin rec port heads with some mild port and bowl work, a 741 crane cam, victor jr intake and a 1050 dominator with more hours work in it than I care to remember, SM Dominator exhaust, Bravo 1 with a Mirage plus 25" prop and hit 68mph light.
If your aiming for 70mph, you will need more HP than the basic combo I described.
Now, if you build a 540 with basically the smae setup, you can hit 72.
I gave up and bought a cat

Josh- Big lift on a big block is in the upper 6's to lower 7's. The cam I am selling still idles like a stock motor. Anybody that ever heard it idle never knew what was really under the hatch

Smitty, ya I know in the bbc world a 731 isn't a monster bump stick, escpecially with todays big cube 502/540/572 combinations. I just don't see the need in going with that much lift for my combo. I just have oval port heads, dual plane intake, and 850 carb. I only need to spin this thing 5300 rpm or so.....
I'm leaning toward that 01-451-8 comp xtreme marine grind. Duration 230 Int, 236 Ex; .547/.547"; valve timing at .006" ivo 32, ivc 72, evo 79, evc 31; 112 LSA. It makes good numbers on desk top dyno compared to my ZZ502 cam. Any opinions on reversion with this cam and my Revolution marine manifolds????
There is a few Lunati cams I'm looking at also, but I need to call the tech line to get timing specs for it, I didn't see them on Lunati's site. The 2 lunati numbers were 54867 and 54866.
I tell you what, my next boat is definately going to have dry tails, sure would make this cam selection thing easier

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but the cams I am selling is the same cam used in the carbed HP500 merc motors.
Josh-- I think you are going too small and you will not be happy. I only ran my motors to 5500 with this cam.

Would you please explain your statement about keeping the lift under .570" What part number GM rollers are you referring to?

Is this the roller set? Or are you planning to use the stock stamped rockers?
