External hydraulic steering connection

Fitting a add on system to a 1986 Merc steering rack,I can't seem to find a spot to connect the lines.I've looked on the Imco site.Where it's shown to connect there's solid lines already.Anyone done this before or have any idea? Thanks

your kit should have come with an adapter plate. this allows the installer to tee the exhisting lines.

The solid lines connect the valve assembly to the inside cylinder. Cut the hard lines remove from valve end with line wrench and install fittings from kit.
The cylinder end of lines will purge fluid as you turn wheel, contain fluid to prevent mess and turn from lock to look, then loop with hose to close cylinder. The system uses inside valve and replaces inside cylinder with those provided in kit.

Thanks Jim.So i cut the solid lines in the middle(there are 2)Remove the end fittings from far end.Where these came from is where the external lines go.I then join with a piece of hose the 2 cut ends that are still attached.I might take a picture of what i have, the motor is out just to make sure i'm doing it right. Thanks Carl.

Hey Carl,

You're Phil Clip's mate from up North. I'm his Bro-in-law. We met when you first trialled an Eliminator at Windsor once. How you going? Phil showed me some recent footage of your new rig when they holidayed up there in October. Man she's a weapon. I'm keen to see how your conversion goes from internal to external steering. I want to do the same thing on my boat. Drop me a line when you finish it to see how you went. All the best.

Jez

Hi Jez, yeah i'm crazy Phil's mate. The Eliminator already has the best steering. This setup is for the Stinger i've got.I'm doing a 632/1471 combo for it.I may have the exact setup you need. Carl.
