Question for Mark OLSKOOL72 about 496
Hey Mark.
On the subject of building a replacement for my worn out 7.4 bravo:
I just picked up some heads 1966 Corvette 427 casting #3872702 they have 98.4 cc closed chambers, A 66 426 4 bolt block. The block has no ridge and is stock bore. I am interested in knowing more about the rotating assby. to build a 496. I did get the 427 pistons and rods as well. Actually 7 of them but he is looking around his shop for #8. I got a forged 427 crank also. So can I use the rods and or or pistons (4.25 bore) get the stroker crank, have it bakkanced and call it a day. Of corse I would get the right cam, possibly roller and roller rockers.
