1999 30' baja sst sea water pump impellers

I need to replace the impellers on a 30' baja sst with twin 454mags and the sea water pumps looks to be hard to get to. Any tricks to this job? Has any one tried to do this them self....

i don't know about Baja, but I have 1991 454 Mags that were very had to get at the sea water pumps. after a few times of skinned up knucles, I swithched the pumps to cam driven pumps. CP performance carries them.

On my carbed 502's mercruisers they were on the lower front drivers side of the engines. Unclamped the hoses, removed a few bolts and replaced both of them housings and all.

I'm assuming you're talking about a 29 Outlaw.

Remove the seat back.

It's attached with 1/4" bolts thru the seat base.

Once all the bolts are out, the seat back will come out,
it requires a little prying and twisting, but it will come
out.

After the seat back is out, it's really not that big of
a deal to do.
