Optimax fouling plugs

My friend owns a 2002-200HP Optimax. It is on its 3rd power head and 2nd gearcase. Yes he runs the chit out of it on a Ranger Center Console. It has fouled plugs at idle and in low speed no wake zones since new. Motor runs great the rest of the time. Does anyone have any imfo that can solve the plug fouling issue. He is getting tired of carrying around and changing spark plugs all the time. Thanks

Two Stroke?...................if so, switch to a synthetic, such as Amsoil, it will burn much cleaner. I've known guys to switch, haven't needed to change plugs for years. Have him use this.....

I would get rid of it and go with a standard EFI 225. I had a '97 225, and did some mods for around 340 HP still stock pistons and bore!! I put over 1200 hours on that motor and sold it and it is still running today!! That year Opti and EFI's were pretty bad for some reason.?

If he wants to stay with that motor I would try some good synthetic oil. Amsoil and Klotz are both good brands. Always use the correct NGK plugs.

Hey no problem, I would recommend the AMSOIL over the Klotz though, considering the AMSOIL is 100% synthetic as opposed to the Klotz, which is not. And the AMSOIL is typically less expensive.
