I know the first task is to order a Diacom Scan Tool on Monday, but the suspense is killing me. Here is what’s taken place so far… 2004, 496 Mag HO, 180 hours and just installed Dana FloTorq Exhaust. Went out Saturday and took it easy looking for potential issues, no leaks but the exhaust risers were much warmer than the OE risers. Late that afternoon I made one hard WOT run… 1 to 2 minutes in and “hard alarm”, let out of it and once under 2K RPM hard alarm shuts off, back on the throttle and hard alarm again. New risers are too hot to keep your hand on?? ran back the marina at 30mph for 10 minutes with no alarm and loaded it with no other problems. Any ideas? All gauges show good; oil pressure, temp is around 170 to 180 and the drive reservoir is full and clean. I also aligned the drive last week and replaced the seals, could the square seal be leaking not allowing the sea pump to pick up enough water? Any help on hard alarms would be helpful.
