Merc timing V6 module/msd questions
Using a Mercury distrbutor with a V6 module is it possible to:
1. Use the distributor with a MSD box without using the merc module? In other words use the Merc dist a MSD box/timing control module and eliminate the V6 module.
I suspect the answer is no.
2. Can the timing be locked out with the Merc V6 module setup at all?
I suspect the answer is again no.
3. Can a MSD iginition box be used with the stock merc dist and v6 module? Is it a standard wireing setup that is included in the MSD installation instructions?

The V6 Module and Mercury distributor along with MSD blue box work great. When you purchase the MSD box, the wiring diagram will explain how to hook-up the Mercury ignition. This combination has been used for years. It seems everyone ends up using this combination because they get fed-up with all the others. Hope this helps. LT
