Question Mechanical Fuel/Water Pump Leak/Fix??

I'm looking at part number 46-807151A8 which is the belt driven sea water/fuel pump assembly(454MagCarb). I'm noticing some dripping under this area. I understand these things are poorly engineering so when fuel pump leaks down, it takes out the pulley bearings.

Now, it just started to leak and I want to understand if I can rehab this situation or do I have to replace the entire unit. Read in one of the forums that it can be resealed. What are my options?

Thanks!

The seals on the water pump/fuel pump shaft can be replaced. Search on OSO for the replacement procedure or take the assembly to a merc mechanic.

Appreciate the advice, I'll call one of my shops, unfortunately we only have two in my area and they aren't to accommodating.

Any type of automotive places that would be able to do this?

The water pump seals are the same as a none fuel pump set up. Most any mercruiser parts deal should have them on the shelf. Them all you need to do is have someone with an arbor press set up and press the stuff apart. While your at it take the bearings up to the local bearing distributor ond replace them also. Another $20 is well worth it.
