I know of one builder who just made 1360hp @ 12.5psi of boost, 93 octane, pump gas, 604ci, no methanol, expecting 1450 with methanol injection. Whipples made 200+ hp more than 1471 with 2.5 less psi. Thats by far the most I've seen for a performance engine. Requires big chief style heads.
Would that be someone in the Marine industry that we all know?
Also I see alot of them make good numbers on the dyno, but will it live in the boat at that HP level?

Gunna dyno a set of 600s with 1471s ,BIG chiefs, 7500 rpm bring some 5.0s down and we can run then same dyno ,same motor, same day and post the dyno sheets on OSO & Serious offshore.com make me a believer i'm trying to not have to do the PSIs this time around

Yes, that seems to be exactly what is happening. The oil is collecting in the base and pushing past the oring. Milling the base does not allow the oil to build up. It stops the oil from getting high enough to push past the oring.
Eddie
So are you saying he oil collects in the bottom oring groove and then leaks out?
Thanks!
PS.. I will do a search for "Big" and see what specs come up!!

Just curious.
I know Mark did back to back on a roots vs. a 5 liter. Was that your engines AJ?
