Question need advice more power from modified 525sc

I need some advice on which way to go. I have a 454 similar to the 525sc setup, only with much better internals, cmi big tube headers, msd, etc., and a weiand 177 turning REALLY fast. It is making approximately 575-600hp.

I am looking at either a better supercharger (whipple) making more boost at cooler temp. or selling the motor and building a big cube N.A. motor

I am running this in a 271 formula and a xr drive. the boat currently runs in the low 70's. We are tweaking the bottom now for some more MPH. I know it isn't the best boat to go fast, but I love how it handles the rough water and its quality.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sam

Got room for an 8-71? What is your static CR?

yes, they are aluminum heads and I do have a superchiller intercooler. With the same pully used on the stock 525sc setup, I was seeing 4.5# boost at WOT. When I went to the smaller pully, the boost rose to a little over 6, but not a huge increase in power. I know this is because at that higher blower speed, it starts making too much heat, so the 6#s or so isn't good boost.

An 8-71 @ 7.5psi would be the best route.

It definately needs a bigger supercharger to make more power. The 177 is at limits. I'm actaully surprised that your not seeing more boost with the smallest pulley though. It should make about 8# of boost with the smallest pulley.
