Moondance,

I had a 27 Fountain with stock 502 efi. An upgrade to Gil manifolds and risers yielded more mid-range throttle response and a better exhaust note. Not much if any top end increase. The savings in weight and the mid-range response was enough for me to be happy with the money spent.

If interested I have a set of Gil manifolds with tall polished stainless risers for sale. PM me for more info.

I installed (2)sets of Stainless Marine manifolds on my '96 502 MPI's. Excellent quality product that came complete. No surprises, missing components, or last minute fab of brackets for the EFI boxes, etc. Never checked on if improved fuel economy, but hid did get rid of a chunk of weight. Did see a noticeable improvement in the mid-range. Minor improvement on the top end, but I wasn't expecting much, or anything.

There are cheaper manifolds out there, but I thought these were best bang for the buck. If you shop around, some deals come up on them. I wouldn't hesitate to buy them again.

Old Post.. I have a stock 502 with silent choice. I may have a manifold that needs to be replaced. Can I run Gil Manifolds and use the stock risor. Is the risor where the extra power comes from the Gil or is it strictly the manifold?
