575sci Blower Question....

I need to find out what size Weiand Blower is on my 2002 575sci...... it is the blower with the "W" on the front cover and has both bearings in an oil bath. I am trying to find out what manifolds were used so I can find a replacement.....mine are showing signs of corrosion....

I just looked at one of my intakes out in the shop.

It's a weiand piece also, it has 6140 cast on the underside

jegs list it.

If its just around where the water ports in the intake meet the heads, you can have them ground out and welded. I had to have my 525SC aluminum intake welded in that spot.

If anyone needs one of these intakes in near new condition, I will sell mine for $350. Freshwater only.

The only difference is that these are cast iron. Lots easier to weld aluminum.

I did not know they were cast iron. I just figured aluminum like most perfiormance intakes.

Are they original from Mercury? If so, what year are your engines? We looked at replacements, as you said, Weiand makes a direct replacement. The concern is they are aluminum and will corrode faster than the cast iron ones did. I called a company in Connecticut, who I use to ceramic coat things. I have had them do a few intake manifolds for me in the past. Mostly, I had the coating put on for asthetics. Anyway, they claimed they have ceramic coated aluminum intake water crossovers, strictly for corrosion protection. They claim the process yields successful results. In case the intakes are deemed unrepairable, we may go for new Weiand aluminums and have them coated.

Anyone ever try this?
