Default Bravo steering how do I know if Ive got a Saginaw or a Brazilian connector

Thinking of a hydraulic system but not sure whether my Bravo steering requires a Brazilian Steering Manifold or a Saginaw Shuttle Valve Fitting (Pair.

Looked at some pdf installation guides on Hardin Marines site but not sure where to look on the unit? Couple of pics - first one looks like saginaw?

any help much appreciated.

You have a Saginaw valve which is a steel cylinder. The Brazilian valve has o-ring sealed lines that enter from the top and is aluminum.

I believe thats what merc considers the old style(my checkmate had the same one) and they do not service it any more, I had to replace with the new o-ring style, but was no big deal...and far cheaper as the nos floating around go for stupid $$$$ Rob

Just keep in mind if you do change from old to new style you will have to buy the high pressure and low pressure hoses to make it work.

As far as the Brazilian wax, I was going to post that first but thought he might need the help right then!
