Default 500 hp / 525 efi

Will the heads, cams and other parts work from a 525 efi on my 500 hp carb motors, if so will it be much of an upgrade.

Steiny, I am not sure but I doubt they will work. Also the specs on the heads and cam are probably to small for what you are looking to gain. You might be better off bumping up the cam size and doing some good head work, add better exhaust and you will be further ahead. Just my 2 cents worth. Good luck

Your exhaust will not bolt up to the heads. Thats why the 525EFI headers are so pricey.

The 525EFI cams are a good choice for an upgrade.

The 525EFI heads have a different header bolt pattern. They are custom heads made by Edelbrock and only headers made for the 525EFI will work. He has Gil exhaust.

Does someone have some old cams laying around or something.

You'll get more from a set of $3000 AFR's and a cam from one of the builders here. You can dump the water off the end of those GILS and make some power. I have done it.

A custom roller cam is usually less than 400 a side and will get you a lot more than the 525 cam. Even from the heads you have now.

I was thinking about just redoing my heads with all the goodies, and new cams so do you have a part number of a cam that will work good with my gill exhaust and still idle ok.
