I am having the same problem now that I have switched to EMI manifolds. I used to have GILs on the motor,(Edelbrock heads), and did not have this problem so maybe thats one more reason the GILs are better.

Not sure I agree that the Gills are better than the EMI's, but the clearance problem is easily solved with the fitting Thunderstruck posted. That is the same fitting I had on mine and it worked just fine.

Im not sure either, I guess I will get that fitting. You have the EMI i assume?

I did have the EMI on my prior engine with Silent Choice. I just built a 540 without Silent Choice and put a set of Lightning headers on.
