Starter issues
The starter on one of my 575s seems to have some issues. I seems like the battery is low but I have both on when cranking. It also feels pretty hot to the touch. When cool it cranks right up. Anybody got some ideas? Time for a new starter I am thinking.

What age and how many hours.. CP performance sells some rear nice gear reduction starters..I hate starter problems. If no lose connections and good voltage I would change it..A nother problem could be bad cables meaning lots of corrosion internally.Put jumper cables from the battery to the stater if it gets better you may need new cables.. But still thinking starter!!

They are 02 575s w about 350hrs. I am leaning toward the starter also. I will do some more checking this week.
But I will say it RAN like a bat outa HELL and we had a blast!!! Put about 6 hrs on it this weekend.
Thanks for the heads up about CP.

Most likely dying starter. If the connections are corroded or soething of the sort, it would either crank or it wouldn't. There's no in between. These starters hang low in the bilge ans suck up a lot of moisture from even the slightest amount of water that always seems to hang out there. This creates a lot of corrosion on the connectors, and paste like corrosion that builds up on the inside. You can sometimes take it apart yourself and simply clean it up and put back in. But the hassle of a broke starter is not worth a little savings. Cahnage the starter and run it with confidence.
