Default dum Q

hi im thinking about picking up a nova II that needs an engine merc 260 small block 350. the other engine in the boat is ok with alot of hours. I have a 350 with 200 cc heads extreme marine cam 1.5 rockers 600 cfm carter carb and on and on. My question is, for this season run the modded 350 next to the stock 260 horse motor, or can I put the same extreme marine cam in the stock motor so they have the same powerband until i get the money to build up the stocker. I hope this makes sense and thanks for your help

Even with the same cam they will have different heads, compression, intake, etc. Motors will behave differently. I would think you could prop your hotter motor exactly as the other motor and run it for the season if you have tachs and run them the same rpm?

Have you priced out other 260 stockers? I have seen some o for low bucks. May want to look at that for a season and build the other. I wouldn't put the wear and tear on the built one with a stock next to it.JMO
