OK I have another question I need help with.I thought I had 8" deep oil pan.But I was just setting up the oil pump,Melling Select 10777 with the screw in pick up,and it seems the pan measures 9" with gasket in place.Does this sound right? When I measure the old pump and pick up it measures 8-7/8". So Im assuming I have the wrong pick up but do they make a pick up for this pump in 9"?

Thank Anthony

One more question about this melling 10777 oil pump and pick up.When I screw the pick up into the pump should I red lock tight it in? or hit it with the mig in a couple spots?Whats everyone else doing to seal the tube so it doesnt have any air leaks and dont loosen and drop to the bottom of the pan.

Thanks Anthony

I use some RTV silicone around the pickup tube where it meets the pump to seal it. Works great and it won't break down over time.
