Default 50 amp breaker problem

I'm having a problem with my stbd motor shutting down spuratically while under way. They are 572 /carb motors. They were just built for my boat last season. Everything on the motors are brand new. The 50 amp circuit breaker tied into my MSD and control panel is popped everytime the problem occurs. It happened only once last year and 3 times just this past weekend so it's obviously it's getting worse. Anybody have any idea what to look for ???

is the breaker new? if not try swapping then from the good engine to the one having problems and see if the problem follows...if not then something is shorting out causing a surge in current and tripping the breaker. Look around the harness and see if any parts may be rubbing against the engine block and wearing through....i had the alternator harness rub through on the exhaust once and fried the entire harness.....smoke EVERYWHERE! I thought the boat caught on fire...scary to say the least
