Default bumping up rev limiter on 500hp

500hp carb motors stock distributer and rev limiter i have msd boxes how do i unhook the stock rev limiter and then i can get a add on to my msds with a rev control that i set where i want.

I think it is built into the stock ignition module. But possibly it may be piggy backed next to it and maybe you could just unplug it and use a jumper wire ???

Its burned into the computer I believe. I sent mine to whipple to be reburned from factory 5350 to 5600 upon whipple install

MIne is carberated no computer just the stock module.

It depends on what you have. On my 525SC with a TB IV ignition, there was a separate box that was the rev limiter. You could just get a standard 454 mag wiring harness that goes from the module to distributor and eliminate it.

It will depend on the serial number for your engine and what ignition you have.

If you have this set up, you can do as I said.

2 wires coming out of distributer, going into a wire loom harness, so i assume the module is in the distributer and i do have msd boxes as well.

Yours must be this one then. I think the rev limiter is built into the module then.

My msd wires are red and white going back to a purple and gray wire ,, there is also a capped off purple w/ white stripe.

my dist wires are white w/ red stripe and white /w green stripe.

coil wires are orange and black.

if this helps at all that is what i got.
