Default WANTED Injectors 350 Mag MPI -00

Hi,

Is there anybody out there... with a couple of 861260T injectors.
I have 350 mag mpi engine running rich, smoke and smells a lot fuel. As i´m having two engines - I have now started mission "change stuff".. until I hopefully will find the faulty.. stuff.

Any ideas of the fault, would be very grateful for all responses. It´s very hard to get hold of a good mechanic in sweden these days (vacation time..)

Thanks in advance

Mikael

it is not likely to be the injectors. when they fail they genrally fail closed. running rich is almost always a sensor failure often associated with engine temp... or engine temp itself. when the motor is in cold start mode it enrichs hugely to start and run at all. then the water temp sensor ( not gage sensor) tells the ecu that it is now warm enough to lean out. if that sensor is bad, wire off, or damaged, then the ecu never gets the message to lean out and you get the symptom you have. if you have taken the thermostat out of it has failed open, you will get the same issue.

as mentioned a dozen times, if you are going to have an injected motor then you need the factory ( emphasize FACTORY not aftermarket) workshop manual and a VO meter. the diagnostic procedures presented are the easiest simplest and cheapest ways to fix problems. as is now , you are going to spend a couple days screwing around with, perhaps no results and if it DOES work you may never know why as opposed to maybe 30 minutes if you had the book and a meter.

there are 50 easy things that could be your issue... i have just mentioned the most common.
