575SCi Oil and Filter
Hi... My husband and I recently aquired a Sonic with twin 575's and he's curious what filters and oil to run. On our previous boat (which we still have) he ran all Wix filters and the mercury 25w40 oil. We are assuming that is what we need to run in this one but want to make sure... anyone with the info please chime in... also, we are looking for the 575 service manual if anyone has one for sale...
thx

Twin 575SCi's, 450 hours.
Always used Mobil 1 15W-50 and either Wix or Mercruiser filters.
When I pulled the heads for freshen up at 430 hours you could still see cross-hatching on the cylinders. Never uses a drop of oil between changes.
Just my $0.02 worth (but based on real world experience rather than someones theory or opinion).
I own a service manual but it's not for sale. Can't get it from Merc anymore?

Here's where I got my manuals.
There's a regular manual and the diagnosic
manual ( mainly for the ecm and such)
They're great engines.
