oil line and fittings?

my motor is going in as soon as this weekend and i am stuck on what to do for oil lines, my boating budget is running low right now and i am not sure if the setup i am putting in is gonna be what i stick with or not so i am not sure i wanna blow a few hundred doing expensive lines. the perma cool oil filter adapter and thermostat include brass fittings with hose and hose clamps, are these good enough to get me buy fore this season? the boat will likely not see much time on the water this year since the interior is not done yet. next season i will do lines the right way if i keep this engine combo, i just need to get on the water as cheap as possible. thanks!

I think as long as you use good gas/oil hose rated for the pressure, you shouldn't have a problem. I would suggest double hose clamping the ends. It defenitly is not ideal, but keep your eye on the oil pressure and check for leaks often.
Then change out to the good stuff over the winter.

There is an Aeroquip dealer just south of 108th and Harrison St. I had some hyd hoses made a while back and they were a lot cheaper than I expected. They have everything and anything. You may want to stop by and price out what you need.

i am trying to think of what place that might be. i noticed orielies does them now also but i asked about the prices and they seemed clueless which makes me think twice abou thaving them do oil lines lol. i will sure look into that, i think i only need 3 lines total. i think mike with the 32 chris cat at hayworth might have something for me also, he has been a big help on my motor. thanks for the info griff!

I wouldnt trust hose clamps for oil lines, but if you have to go that route use two clamps at each end

i agree that 2 clamps are the way to go. i am gonna look into the place griff mentioned before. only reason i asked is because the oil filter adapter can come in a kit that includes oil lines and fittings, i was thinking if that is common practice to use lines that way then maybe it could work? if i can get lines made cheap i would much rather go that route. i still ahve the original hoses to run to the oil filter and the ones to the cooler so i can reuse tose if they fit. i just want to get this thing on the water this season and with a tight budget i wanna save money but i also do not want to do something that is gonna fail right away. for all i know i might have another motor by spring time lol

call henry's eng in MD and ask for wayne. tell him you want your oil lines in the pushlock type. buy all the fittings and the hose in a single long length and then just cut to length and push them together no clamps and they are forever.

Its only a block or two south of Harrison St on 108th in kinda of an industrial strip mall. At least it was. I have not been there for a couple years.
