New Battery New Starter rebuilt motor taht i can turn over by hand...its not just cllicking once but rapidly...and the motor does not turn over but it does move about an inch while the starter just keeps ratcheting against the flywheel...motor is a 1989 mercruiser system....and the motor was running and running beautiful yesterday!

Low voltage is the ONLY thing that will make your solenoid click rapidly. Could be a bad connection on one of the main cables or a dead battery. Either way it is a voltage problem.
