Default Drive shower installed...now prop slips and will not accelerate

I installed a Just Wicked Marine Drive shower (http://www.cpperformance.com/detail.aspx?ID=6932) and it works great!

Since I installed it, the shower I've had problems with the prop slipping (not sure it that is the right word). What happens is when taking off from a idle the boat planes out normal, but above 3500 rpm the motor just revs without the boat picking up more speed. It seems like the prop is spinning but not getting traction. It's kinda scary feeling to have! boat is a 25ft baja. Prop is a 23p Mirage plus that has been labbed. Anybody know the fix to this problem?

I would take the shower off and see if the problem goes away. If it does, this shower unit may not the the right piece for your set up.

I read in another thread that "jeffswav" had the same problem when he installed a shower and had to shorten the pickup tube to solve it.

Cutoff pickup tube flush on front leaving about 1/8" on backside of angle your problem will go away.

got it fixed. Thanks for everyone's good advice. Raising the pickup ports worked.
