Engine Life

Question for the engine experts. Ive heard that the merc 1075 needs a rebuild about every 50 hours. Is this true for most of the big power engines? Specifically sterlings and teagues? Im looking at a few boats with 800 and 900. A few of them Teagues and few sterlings. What can I expect hour wise before a rebuild is needed?

Also, for the 625 vipers, anyone have knowledge of their expected life?
