Default 1996 7.4 mpi very low oil pressure

i got water in thru the exuast on top of the spark plugs and some water was in the oil so i drained it and put new after i did a valve job on the motor , so it runs great but the busser keeps going off but i dont hear any lifter noise but the guage is going all over the place up and down all the way any help would be appericatged thaks james

James,
First thing you need to do is hook up a good mechanical oil pressure gauge instead of the electrical one and see if you really do have low oil pressure. DO NOT run the engine any longer than you have to to read the gauge, maybe a minute or two ? If the mechanical gauge reads ok, then you have a problem with the electric gauge or sending unit. If the mechanical gauge confirms that you do actually have very low oil pressure, you need to stop and pull the engine and find out why. The longer you run it without oil pressure the more damage you are doing and the more expensive it will be to repair it

BillK i did what youi said oil starts to come up the line on the mech gauge and then goes back down and no oil pressure any ideas on the weekend we ran the boat at like curise and it had like 15 pounds of oil pressure and sometimes the buzzer would go off then the guage would go up to like half the go down to 5 pounds the go up to half and bounce all over . could we have put the top end of the motor together wrong to cause an no oil pressure reading any help would be appericated thanks james

Jimmie,
Cant think of anything in the "top end" that would affect oil pressure like that. I think it is time to end the season, pull it out and find out what is wrong before you totally ruin it
