good amplifiers???
i was looking to do some major video and audio stuff to the boat this winter? any ideas of what amps are good quality and price? i am a bit overwhelmed with all the bs on ebay. i am only familiar with the older amps like linear, alpine, rockford fosgate, etc.
just looking for good clean power without spending a ton of money.
thanks for any input.

Marine JL Audio for everything.
300/4 with (4) 770 components and a 500/1 with (2) 10 in subs. all you need and will sound great.
Amps are under rated at 300rms and 500rms. New this stuff should run $1700-$2000 (plus wires, fuses blocks, etc)

Alpine PDX amps. Low power draw, low heat, compact size and make tons of clear power.

Pretty sure mine are "free air" (I bought what some buddies told me to get). They are mounted under the rear bench seat and the ladies love it.......they sit down leaning forwarded and their eyes roll back in their head when the bass hits!! LOL 500+ watts RMS make these things kick very hard.
I found them on EBAY: NEW JL AUDIO M10IB5-4 MARINE SUBWOOFER 10" SUB WOOFER

a good friend of mine has an audio shop in Baton Rouge where they do high end installs in boats. (last install was 29,000 dollars for equipment, labor, and parts.) he swears by JL Audio marine, and by the sound of some of his installs, i can very clearly see and hear why. its a little higher priced, but you do pay for what you get.
