Prop guy question
I have a Velocity 29' VR1 with 600 hp. After running a Hydromotive 5 blade 15 1/2x27 80.2@5100. And a Hydromotive 4 blade 15 1/2X30 79@4900 Both needed excessive trim to get my max mph. In the early 70s it chine walks. At my top speed trimmed high it doesn't chine walk at all. I think these props give more transom lift then I need. I'm looking for about 500 more rpm as well as maybe more bow lift to compensate for the excessive trim. The case is a stock XR and the nose is 3" under the pad. I'm thinking I need a Bravo 1 28P?? What do you suggest and have? Thanks,Steve.

I just finished a 26 Velocity and ran into the same problem.
I tried all of the Hydro's and they all had to much stern lift and were driving it over on the nose. The best prop by far on that boat was the Maximus. I ran a 15 1/2 diameter. Not only did it handle the best, with absolutely no chine walking at all, but it was the fastest. I put a 2" shortie on and the slip is to high. I'm going to install a spacer, but even with 20% slip the boat is running over 90 mph. Good luck.

I just got back from running a used 15 1/4 X 28 Bravo1
Got 81.6@ 5250 and ran out of water.I was too far in the 5 zone and had to let off. It planed better but still was side to side in the 70s most of the time. I have 3 Hydromotive props I might be selling.
Young, what hp what prop?
