Default Water hose connection help (serpentine) 454 / 502 mag

Can some one look at their engine or service manual and tell me if the fresh water hose from the drive connects to the top nipple on the sea pump or the bottom.
Thanks in advance Mitch

The hose from the drive goes to the bottom of the pump. The top pushes water to the engine.

That is the way I have mine hooked up, but now it sounds like the one on the Baja is coming from the drive to the top of the pump. Anyone have the install manual on the 2001 502mag or 454mag?
This was a picture from the dyno. When I looked at it magnified, it looked like the water in was hooked to the bottom. The hosed were not connected when I got it.

Also when you go to start the engine just have your hand on the impeller housing, If it starts getting warm you have the hoses hooked up wrong, If it stays cool then you are ok, You will know within 15 seconds if you got it right or not by feeling it.

Heavy walled hose goes on the suction side of the pump.

flexible hose output side.
