Default Can exhaust diverters be painted

Can Corsa exhaust diverters be painted or do they need to be powder coated? I would like to refinish mine and was wondering if normal PPG gloss black would work? I'm worried that it might not stand up to the heat? Although the Merc black out of the can seems to work on the exhaust risers and manifolds?

if the sys. is working prperly, staying cool enough to put your hand on it. you should be able to paint it, just rough up the surface and use a good paint
