Mine has pressure within a second of firing the engine.

I have my remote filter mounted at least a 1' above the VC., neaver had a problem. I do use a prelube system.

Another solution if you are worried about start-up pressure, is wire the ignition seperate from the starter. You can let the starter crank and build pressure prior to turning on the ignition and the engine firing.
