Default Special relay for engine hatch actuator???

My engine hatch actuator has never been strong enough to get the hatch up in the closed position. I ran wires straight off one battery with me in the engine bay with the hatch shut and it went right up with no problem. So how can I get the voltage up with the factory switch? I don't see how I can a relay up because the positive and negitive wire is going to switch back in forth depending on which way you work the switch. I don't really want one switch to go up and one to go down. Is there a special relay for this?

you will need 2 bosch 40 amp relay's follow this wireing exactly the way i give it to you and you wont end up with smoke..

turn the relay up side down and you will see numbers next to the spades coming off of them..

relay 1 # 85 & 87 loop the spades and tie them together, this wire will go to the + fused side of the battery..
# 87 a center spade will go to - or ground....
# 86 will go to your up or down switch
# 30 will go to one of the wires on the accuator..

Relay # 2 follow the same diagram, you can loop all the 85's and 87's together(power),,,you can do the same with the 87a's(ground)..

thease relays will reverse power and ground at the accuator..

disconnect the the ground wire going to the switch and everything will work fine..

Make one for a few bucks from 2 relays from Radio Shack or AutoZone. You will still want to use heavier wires for the power leads. The switch leads don't need to be heavy.
I think I've read were you can buy this as a prewired system from Summit or such for $20-30?????

I dont have a relay on mine and it works just fine. You are probably running to small gauge of wire. I have #10 on my hatch ram.

Set it up with the relays. I did it and it works great! The only difference is I used sealed weather tight relays for snowmobiles. They were a little pricey but worth it. At least I thought so.
