Cam question for water reversion
Hi I am getting a Gen VI 540 with Merlin Grumpy Jenkins heads and have a Hydraulic Roller cam that has these specs.
cam timming @50
duration 236 intake
duration 244 exhaust
lobe seperation 112
lift intake 610
lift exhaust 632
I have Imco Super flow wet exhaust. Will I have an issue with this set up.
Thank you in advance.

I would say probably not, but there are no guarantees. That is a Crane 741 cam. Plenty of people use that cam on 502-540ci engines. The Imco exhaust will most likely be the determining factor.

If you have the A Pipe you would be safer than the shorty riser Imco makes. I have a friend who has the Imco setup with the A Pipes with a HR cam with 240/248 duration @50 on a 540 with ported steel heads, with no probelms. His idle is set at 850 to 900......

I have the A pipe not the shorty, so I should be safe with that then. I will run the motor for a while and remove the manifolds and inspect before I go out and blow an engine.
Thank you all
