Default drive swap info

I put this in drives section got nothing....whats involved with installing a newer bravo 1 on my 89 checkmate, is it a direct bolt on or ?? thanks Rob

if it has a bravo now, it should be a direct replacement I believe.
but I think it has to be a X drive not a XR, I think there is a difference in the gimble bearing.

If you're just talking about bolting the drive onto the bellhousing then yes - no problem.

You can't bolt an XR onto a normal style Bravo Gimbal.

so the later model are a direct swap...thats what I wanted to know..now which are the best to try to run down ? thanks again..Rob

Don't forget if its an older bravo gimbel with no self oiler set-up then a newer bravo drive will not just bolt up since the new bravo drives have the self oiler set-up and fitting on the drive that fits into the gimbel.

mine does have the remote oil resevoir, not sure if it was updated or came that way ?? thanks !

go to a b1x drive , its got the steel tower worth the few extra bucks.
