I recently purchased some sst mercruiser risers to delete the rust cast iron mercruiser risers. However, this prevents mounting of the oil filter unless I use a spacer on a long stud on the port side of each motor. I'd rather avoid this and mount the oil filter to the transom. Is there a good billet alternative out there to do this. It would make the engine compartment cleaner looking.
Ok, so this might be a little late but I'm in the middle of doing this right now (454 winter upgrades) and this is what I did.
I went with a hp-6 filter head that mounts to the back of my port cylinder head. I also bought the summit -12 twist-tite fittings and blue hose to replace the oil lines while I was relocating the filter.
