Default Whipple on 260 SunDeck w/6.2/BravoIII

I have a 2008 260 SeaRay Sundeck w the 6.2mpi/Bravo III...I currently run about 46mph/gps... I am tossing around the idea of putting a whipple on it...anybody done this to a Sundeck? Results? I saw a video of a guy running a 540 in his 240 Sundeck and he was running bout 60-65mph..so the questions for all you pros are...Is $9000.00 about what it will cost?, How much speed should I gain?(I would like to run 60-65), should I just pull the engine and sell it, swap in another one?(would that be cost effective?), Would I NEED add a corsa thru hull exhaust to the system also?

Thanks in advance for any feedback...
Also, any shops within 5-6 hrs of north alabama who would like to possibly work on the project, please feel free to email me..

I have two 6.2's/Bravo I's in my 292. Pumping up the HP of a single 6.2 in that big of a boat is probably not a good idea. That is pushing a lot of weight for a single. The combination of that and a hooked-up BravoIII could get that 6.2 hot with potential detonation running marginal octane fuel. Greater oil capacity (stock is 4.5 qrts) and a good oil cooler is a must if you go supercharged. Swapping to a big block or a different boat that fits your needs would be a better option. JMHO.

Oh, and welcome to OSO!

all hulls have a limit on how fast they are going to run....so putting another 100hp or 500 for that matter may not give you the results you are expecting..seen it mant times....aka..enjoy the boat..want to go fast...buy a performance boat

Bob Llyod of Full Throttle Marine has Whippled 6.2's. He also built the motor for SeaRay Jim who has a Sundeck with big power.
