Gen 6 P.S. pump

I am in need of a power steering pump for a 502 Mag, Gen 6. Does anyone know if a stock GM one will work? Merc wants an insane amount for a factory one (over $500), and I know a lot of GM parts will bolt right up. Even used ones seem pretty high, and I an nearing the edge of my budget on this project. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

it is a std GM pump, just match up the overall looks and change the pressure regulator over(the big hex under the pressure line, remove it, there's a valve and spring that will pop out, use all 3 peices in the new pump) that way you will keep the pressure the same..Rob

I just replaced mine with a gm pump from Standard auto for $75. They even pulled the pulley for me while I waited.
