Default need advice...

Picked up a mint 88 Scarab panther w stock 454's what is the correct prop size to run on this boat ...any info would be great .....thanks for any help..

Alpha drives?? you dont want to run 4 blades..my friend ran 23 mirage props on his..

It has bravo ones on it ....Got the boat doing 61 62 on gps at about 4900 rpm...thinkin it should run faster n its mis proped

Friend runs 23 Mirage+ on his. You are right around the speed and RPM. He has seen 64, he also has 365's do you have 330's?

You could help us out and tell us what props are on it now? I think your right in the ball park though if that 4900 is WOT? Thats not the lightest hull around, where are you running the trim? Try trimming up the bow and see if it picks up a few mph. Bottom painted? Fuel level, how many people on board, water condition, it all matters. You might be able to pick up a few mph but I think your near or at the top especially if their 330's.

62 is a good speed from 330's. 65 with Magnums and 70-72 with 420's. The Bravo props will give a faster cruise speed.

I have 365's...I got it at 61 62 w four adults on board and about a full tank of fuel..
4900 was not wot either had more not much but more..lol
I run it in the barnegat bay in new jersey ...water wasnt to ruff that day besides the wake of my freinds 38 outerlimits I was following to atlantic city ..lol
This Is my first boat so im new to all this ...I will check prop size when i get home from work....

Still at work but a freind of mine that looked at the boat for me before i made the purchase just called me back and said it has 23 mirage's on it ...
