Default Is it possible to shorten SS risers for switchable exhaust?

Has anyone done this? Most of the stainless steel risers that I have seen on aftermarket manifolds and exhaust would be too long to use with the silent choice on my boat. I would like to maintain the option of running quiet when needed.

Thanks!

Its possible, but you need to be careful not to cause reversion. It really depends on the engine package or camshaft used. Best bet would be some clamp on air operated mufflers in my opinion.

Yep. My previous boat had Gil/Merc exhaust. I added silent choice and sent the risors off to Corsa to be shortened, thinking they would be cut short, and then the inner tube expanded to fit tight against the out tube as original for the $100 fee. Sure was surprised when they did nothing more than cut them shorter, to my supplied dimension with a band saw and weld a SS rod between the two pipes to create a damn. I could have done this myself in a matter of minutes had I known this was all they would do.
