the 1.65 ratios came with the lower hp engines,,like the 5.7/6.2's small block chevys and the 7.4 mpi 310 hp big block chevy engines..

Serial number OK092486 is going to be a 1997 MERCRUISER BI-ROTATION BRAVO 1 1.50:1 Model Number 5120150KS.

This was a standard drive unit when it was new.

Default Bad solenoid?

Ok, I finally had a chance to get under there and play with the drives. When I try to put them down, port side goes down, but the starboard just clicks and doesnt move. If I put my finger on the upper solenoid (starboard side), I can feel it clicking. When I go to put the drives up, they both move and seem to work fine. Got fluid in both sides, and pressure in all the lines. Both pumps run (pretty loud).

Sounds like I just need to change the upper solenoid (which controls the UP motion) and leave the lower solenoid (which I assume controls the DOWN motion). Please let me know if I am on the right track.

This is what I think I need to buy: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/18-58...ssoriesQ5fGear

Swap the wires on the solenoids to isolate exactly which component is bad.

These drives have hinge pins instead of trim senders. That makes them HP units. I could be wrong but from the picture it loks like it.

Vinzi,

I am pretty sure that you can bolt any Bravo onto an HP transom, including a Blackhawk (that one I know for sure). So the serial number tells all.

Really? Regular Bravo 1's don't have hinge pins?
